The Women’s Fund and The Miami-Dade County Commission for Women are leading the charge for equal pay in Miami-Dade County. We’re gathering a team of collaborators who we’ll highlight as they join the fight. Together, we can make a real impact on poverty in our County by paying women fairly.
Our goal is to make sure every woman in Miami-Dade County is paid fairly — women doing the same work as men should be paid equally. We know that change can happen one organization at a time…and there’s no time to waste.
Signing the Compact gives employers the opportunity to be part of a diverse group of companies – large and small, for-profit and nonprofit – leading the way toward gender pay equity. Submit your information below to get started!
I applaud the growing number of countries that have already made significant progress in closing their gender wage gap. Despite passage of the Equal Pay Act of 1963, which requires equal pay for equal work, the gender pay gap in the United States persists. Women working full-time earn only 79 percent of men’s wages. I believe that we have an obligation to change this statistic. Businesses must play a critical role in reducing the national pay gap, and individuals can affect change through advocacy and action. I am committed to taking action individually and collectively to reduce the national pay gap and bring change to Miami-Dade County.
